A Landmark in Food Security: 10 Giant Tanks for the National Edible Oil Reserve
Client: Sinograin (Lujiang) Reserve Co., Ltd.
Project Value: $4.7 Million USD
Completion Time: 120 Days
Core Achievement: Successfully delivered one of the region's largest edible oil reserve depots, comprising ten monumental 5,000-cubic-meter tanks, showcasing unparalleled expertise in managing and executing mega-scale agricultural storage infrastructure under an aggressive timeline.

This project was a landmark strategic initiative, involving the construction of ten giant 5,000-cubic-meter edible oil storage tanks for Sinograin (Lujiang) Reserve Co., Ltd. in a single phase. The creation of this massive depot significantly enhanced strategic reserve capacity, serving as critical infrastructure for national food supply chain stability and regulatory control. As the EPC contractor, we were tasked with the complete project lifecycle, pushing the boundaries of industry scale and speed.
The Challenge: Precision Coordination and Quality Assurance in a Mega-Project Cluster
Managing a Mega-Project Cluster: How to coordinate resources and workflows to enable the efficient parallel construction of 10 giant tanks, avoiding process conflicts and resource bottlenecks to meet the stringent 120-day deadline?
Ensuring Safety and Precision in Giant Tank Construction: Traditional construction methods posed significant safety risks and potential precision errors for tanks of this magnitude. What advanced construction techniques could be applied to enhance safety and accuracy?

Our Solution: The Fusion of Cutting-Edge Technology and Lean Management
Application of the Hydraulic Jacking Method: For the erection of these giant tanks, we employed the advanced Hydraulic Jacking Incremental Launching Method. This technique involves assembling the tank roof at ground level and then jacking it up, adding wall courses from the top down. This significantly reduced high-altitude work, greatly improving construction safety and precision control while accelerating the schedule.
Full-Scale Deployment of Welding Robots: To achieve ultimate consistency in weld quality, we extensively utilized fully automated welding robots for the main longitudinal and circumferential seams. Robotic welding overcame the variability and fatigue associated with manual welding, ensuring consistently superior, high-strength welds and laying a solid foundation for the tanks' long-term safety.
"Zoned and Phased" Cluster Scheduling Strategy: The site was divided into managed work zones, with a detailed grid-based construction plan. Specialized teams operated in parallel within their zones under a unified command, working like a precise timepiece to ensure the entire project cluster progressed efficiently and orderly.
Management Innovation: Grid-based Collaborative Management for Super-Large Project Clusters
Project Scale: 50,000 m³ Total Capacity, an Industry Benchmark Project

The project execution was a challenge against limits. Through scientific planning and rigorous site management, we achieved the "Lujiang Speed" in large-scale reserve depot construction. Within 120 days, ten steel giants were erected, with the entire process being safe, efficient, and uncompromising on quality, earning high recognition from the client and national authorities.
The successful commissioning of the Lujiang Giant Reserve Depot has substantially boosted the emergency edible oil reserve capacity in the Yangtze River Delta region. It is not merely a storage facility but a modern strategic asset reflecting national commitment and the pinnacle of Chinese manufacturing. Its success establishes a replicable model for subsequent super-large projects of a similar nature.
